Hello there, I recently Changed the pickups in my LTD F-50 for some EMG-HZ N1's.
They are working fine but whenever i'm not playing or toughing the strings or any metal parts it's makes an electronic buzzing.
the sound is constant unless i touch either the strings, jack, nobs, machine head etc, It's seem like an electrical current.
any ideas??
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Cheers

Hi neoncloud - welcome to GN2
A likely candidate for the problem is that the wire which should connect the metalwork of the bridge (and hence the strings) to ground is missing or disconnceted. You can test that idea externally, with a piece of wire clipped to the outer metal barrel of the jack and to the bridge. Then, if that solves it, do an internal one from bridge to a grounded point. The guitar probably had this wire, which may have gotten disconnected.
cheers

I know whats happened, when soldering the pickup cables i accidentaly singed the grounding cable oops!!
I'll have to cut it shorter and re-solder it, but at least now i know whats wrong

Well good luck. Just to bear in mind, singeing the insulation of that wire wouldn't make a difference, if the wire core was still connected
