I'm using a couple of M22's hummers from Carvin, 1-500K Linear w/DPDT (volume), 1-500K Audio w/DPDT (Tone), 022 cap and 3-way toggle. The schematic is based on "KIT 40 DC 127" found on Carvin's sire: www.carvin.com/manuals/Pickup_Wiring.pdfAll works including coil splitting, but the tone has no effect. The sound is too bassy. What am I doing wrong?

Go back and double check your wiring job on cap and on the 500K Tone .... These two are the magical things that make your tone change.

Thanks for the reply. Actually I have checked and rechecked even to the point of changing the wiring to a PRS layout. One web comment was to try using the linear taper instead of the audio. I'll know this weekend if it works.

Hello,
I'm hot-rodding a Fender Squire Strat, but am having tone problems as well. I have changed the pickups: Neck-Vandzant. Middle-Texas Special. Bridge-Little 59.
I changed the 5-way selector switch out last night, it helped a little. How can I get a warmer tone, but with the same bite? Can I change out the capacitors, or the tone knobs for a warmer tone. Its too twangy for me. -Thanks
