I was sure that they had rw/rp on middle pup, but no.
I was told that you can just flip the magnets around on those plastic bobbin pups. I haven't tried it, so I don't know how hard it is to do. Then just switch the leads and its hum cancelling in pos 2 and 4.
Can anyone confirm this ?

Chris will be able to say with certainty, but i am fairly certain the pole-pieces ARE the magnets on your pickups.
and you DON"T want to even think about removing them and flipping them over.

These are the same pups that come in the MIM 70's Classic Strat.

are there magnets under the pickups?

Thx for the welcome. It was super easy, just pushed the magnet out from the bottom of the pickup, flipped it over and pushed it back in. I didn't even have to remove the pickup from the pickguard to do it. Then I just switched the leads and its hum cancelling in pos 2 and 4.

When you pushed the magnets (plural) out, did you see white plastic in the holes, or pickup wire?
If you saw wire, you're a mighty lucky camper.
?Magnet ( ?singular? ), if so, I don't know what you're working on.

Magnet*S*...you're right. You shouldn't try to do that on a pup with "vintage"-type fiber bobbins, but those plastic bobbins have plastic between the magnet pole pieces and the coil.

And, as a result, one can vary the individual pole piece height for balance adjustment. Now why didn't someone think of threaded magnets/pole pieces with a screwdriver slot in the top?

Well, actually, the alnico blend in use in the early days did not take machining well.
And few make use of the bobbin thru topology. It does affect the tone in that the windings are farther from the magnets.
