Strat mid switch for tele sound?

Hi. Could someone point me in the direction to learning how I rewire my strat (early 90's deluxe with lace sensors) so that the middle position switch will put the bridge and neck p/u's in parallel for a telecasterish sound? I have no use for the mid pickup on by itself.

The configuration I am looking for is.
1 neck
2 neck mid
3 neck bridge
4 mid bridge
5 bridge

Also, if I opted to add a "neck on" switch like this would it put the neck pickup in series or parallel?

3 years of electronics at a vocational high school and I'll be damned if I can remember any of it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The short is, yes, you can get that set of combinations quite easily. However, the rewiring will depend on which switch you have in your Strat. It will be either a DP5T or 4P5T switch, so we'll need to know which one is the appropriate little goodie, before we can flail away with pencil and paper.

Also, my image server is down (again! ), so I won't be able to post anything I draw up for a few days, at least. (I'm considering moving everything to somewhere else, anywhere that is more reliable than Filecabin.) We'll have to depend on someone else to submit a diagram, after you tell us which switch you have.

Also, if I opted to add a "neck on" switch like this would it put the neck pickup in series or parallel?

The addition of a Neck On switch (or a Bridge On switch) will connect that pickup in parallel with either of the other two (or both of them, when chosen).

If you put a neck-on switch into your guitar, you can use the free side of your switch for putting the bridge in series with the middle pickup for a full humbucker sound. Thus your combinations would be:

Switch pulled:
N+B; N+M+B; M; M+B, B

Switch pushed:
N; N+M; M; M; BxM

If you like it, I guess I can post a schematic.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't expect every reader to be a knowledgable member who has a ready answer, but the '21' is a bit high, even for a weekend. I was just registering surprise, not complaining...... that's all.

Hey guys, this will do the basic desired combos (which come "free" with the Schaller Mega Switch "E") as well as all of the S-1 Fender combos with the S-1 down.

If you only want the basic combos (with B+N in lieu of M), just use the Mega Switch "E" (but since you've got the patient's chest open anyway....).

Thanks for the replies. They are appreciated. I think I am going to go with the Megaswitch E in it's standard 3 single coil configuration. Sounds like that will be the shortest route to what I'm trying to do. Ignorance prevents me from figuring out what kind of switch I have now.
