I don't know what I'm doing wrong... I have a Korean Ibanez lefty RS470-L, HSH, no pickguard. I put Bill Lawrence 500XL in the bridge, 500R neck and still have the IBZ single coil mid. I wired it like a PRS (Santana/Jazz/metal), but was not satisfied with all the tones and I had buzzing where I shouldn't have. I tried another diagram for 5-way with phasing, which left some dead spots and after playing the bridge position (which sounded killer) just went mute (?). So I decided to wire it by a diagram I had originally intended to use with all the positions I really wanted. I got more buzz, even out of the humbuckers and every position besides bridge (which sounds like it might be coil shunted) sounds like the tone knob is all the way bass, and the tone knob doesn't work. I need a surefire diagram with the CORRECT wire colors for Lawrence pickups (I've tried just about all combinations) for a lefty. I left the volume and tone STOCK reverse wired. For early Christmas, I want: 1 - Neck 2 - Neck shunt/middle "Strat tone" 3 - Neck * Bridge (not sure, but I think bridge oop, something like Jimmy Page blend ala "Rock n Roll") 4 - (not sure what's possible, but maybe N+M*-B? or N*M+B?) 5 - Bridge 1,2,5 definite. AND NO BUZZING! I'll try a few of the diagrams I see posted here lately - most are slightly different-looking and I trust you guys more than the sites I've been getting my whacky diagrams from. PLEASE! I just got this Floyd Rose figured out and tuned to not go out of tune with these huge strings. I don't want to sell this guitar now! I'll post the diagrams I've used when I find them online. My CAD program is corrupt.

"I did it mU-self!" - Bubba, the maintenance guy I ended up starting another fight with this diagram: guitarelectronics.zoovy.com/product/WDUHSH5L1103The humbucker leads are backwards (I don't know if being lefty has to do with it) and everywhere but the Lawrence diagrams have the N/S links as GREEN and WHITE. I used Bill's own handwriting and soldered it back to GREEN and RED. I also soldered the superswitch to the ground going to the bridge...this was before I reversed the HB leads and messed with switching the ground terminal to get rid of the hum. Then the whole thing went dead and I thought I burned the volume pot or something. So in the process of replacing it I found a stray wire that was leftover from the shop I had it setup at when I first bought it (long story and I only buy parts from them now!). The wire was grounding the hot lead on the volume pot. Then I thought I had it all good and then the thing with the tone going to all bass except on the bridge happened again. After testing out all the guts I felt really stupid when my wife found the backplate. I told her it came from part of a UFO I found in the desert one night while 4-wheeling - some sort of space composite material with a...foil...backing...OH SUGARSMACKS!!! (no, not the word I used, and much louder) A bit of scrap yellow electrical tape 'cause my absent mind misplaced the 2nd or 3rd roll of black, and it worked fine. Who has yellow tape and where'd I get it? Is Kharma messing with me again? ;D I still have buzzing in the 2 and 4 position, but I think the SC it to blame. I shielded it when I first bought the guitar, which did no good (maybe I should have "drained" it?). It's not bad now - you can barely hear it. Maybe I'll replace the SC. Maybe the switch ground helped? I have the top/far coil on the neck and the top near coil on the bridge combining with the SC. I still want to mess with it a bit to make the #3 position a little lighter on the neck and a bit hotter towards the bridge.. Any suggestions? I think, therefore...I'm learning?. I just have to stop trying to make it sound like a Fender... ;D
