Well you guys were so helpful with my humbucker questions, and the guitar sounds great... so I'll post my next question here for your input as well.
I'm working on one of my Squier 51's. It has a single coil in the neck, and a humbucker in the bridge.
I'm trying to come up with a wiring scheme that will make it work as humbucker only in the bridge position, single only in the neck, and single + split humbucker in the middle position.
In the middle, it only sounds good split... and flipping the switch + pulling out the volume pot is a hassle. I'd like to make it all one motion to split the humbucker.
Here's a proposed diagram using a DP3T switch:
Is there any way I can pull this off without having to get a DP3T selector switch? I have an Allparts Les Paul style switch that has 4 lugs on it. (each side is isolated and would require a jumper in the middle to tie the two pickups together)
