Well you guys were so helpful with my humbucker questions, and the guitar sounds great... so I'll post my next question here for your input as well. I'm working on one of my Squier 51's. It has a single coil in the neck, and a humbucker in the bridge. I'm trying to come up with a wiring scheme that will make it work as humbucker only in the bridge position, single only in the neck, and single + split humbucker in the middle position. In the middle, it only sounds good split... and flipping the switch + pulling out the volume pot is a hassle. I'd like to make it all one motion to split the humbucker. Here's a proposed diagram using a DP3T switch: Is there any way I can pull this off without having to get a DP3T selector switch? I have an Allparts Les Paul style switch that has 4 lugs on it. (each side is isolated and would require a jumper in the middle to tie the two pickups together)

I don't think you'll be able to do it without a dp3t switch like in your diagram.
Why do you have the south half of your humbucker wired backwards, though?

It's wired backwards to keep the proper phase. Thats the same way it was wired from the factory, actually.
Thanks for the correction on the DP3T switch name. Oops.
The only DP3T toggle I've found is on Stewmac and is a right angle switch. That type isn't going to fit this guitar well at all. I'd love to find a straight up toggle.

I found a DP3T on Mouser that seems suitable. It's not quite what I'm looking for... but it will work.
Funny when you want a switch with unusual layouts like that how the price shoots up quickly. $14 each for these things.

You should know that almost every switch will incorrectly be called a dpdt. So that's probably what you should look for (yeah, sorta wierd...)

I did, extensively. I got tired and ordered this toggle from mouser.
The only DP3T LP style toggles I found were just too big. I had to go with a smaller switch.
