This is my current plan: The volume pot is a push pull with coil split. A 4P3T toggle switch selects pickups and inverts the coil split in the middle position. (auto split in middle position, but pull the pot and it goes back to dual coil) The 4P3T rotary switch selects parallel in position 1, series in position 2. Does anyone see anything that won't work? Does anyone have any ideas of what to do with the open position on the rotary? I could always short it so positions 1 & 3 act the same, and then add something else on the empty two poles (C & D) in only position 3. (I just can't think of what to add there)

I'm guessing its correct enough to work, then?
No ideas on the third position of the rotary?

Ok, all done...
After taking a look at your diagram, some things of note: -Your auto coil-split push-pull is a nice bit of work - I like that it unsplits or splits given the position of the pup selector. -In series mode, you've got some problems. Specifically, you'll have no sound with only the single coil selected (there's no path to ground) nor with only the humbucker selected (no hot). -Assuming that your single coil is a normally wound coil, your both pups selected position has two north coils, making it especially noisy.
Suggestions: I'll work on some stuff as work is slow today, but try it on your own as well. You've got two whole poles on the rotary unused, so you should be able to fix this issue. Also, the third rotary position could do phase if you play your cards right...

ok, try these (if someone could check them for me, that'd be great) Note that I switched the south and north coild of the humbucker assuming that the single coil is north. version 1: simple fix (should function as you requested) version 2: added series OoP option (keeps humcancelling)

Holy crap, I'm gonna have to spend some time going over that diagram now. It's a little overwhelming as it sits.
I'm off to Cancun early tomorrow morning and will return on Tuesday. I will be back to comment then.
Thanks for putting in some work! The phase option sounds like a pretty cool one. (although I don't care much for that sound, its better than dead air)
Oh, and my single coil is South up, actually. It's a Tele pickup.

"better" is a subjective term at best. If you want a kill switch, that'll do nicely, or you can do phase. If the single is south, then switch the north and south on the humbucker in the diagrams I posted and you'll be grand. happy soldering!
