Hi everybody! ;D I've recently pimped out my 2 hum Ibanez GAX75, i turned it into a 3 hum monster with a vol tone and coil splitter for each Pup. I'm happy with everything except the selector, i'd love to put a 4 pole 6-position rotary switch in it but i cant find a diagram for what i want. Here's what i want to do... 1.n 2.nm 3.m 4.mb 5.b 6.nmb Can anyone help me out?

I don't know.....which way did you come in? Well, I'm not going to help you out, but help you help you out. May I presume that in the multiple pickup combinations that you want them in parallel (+) and not in series (*)? 1.n 2.n+m 3.m 4.m+b 5.b 6.n+m+b If so, since three pickups are required in position 6, you will need three poles (3P6T). Since there aren't 3P6T switches readily available, you are correct in assuming that a 4P6T is in order. I'm going to explain how the switch works since I've never seen the StewMac ones and don't know the pin out. the StewMac ones.....and there are many rotary switches available. Fortunately, most are open frame, meaning that one can visually observe the switching action. You should also have a digital multimeter. Wiring without one is like driving with your eyes mostly closed. So, "assign" one pickup to each pole. A pole is the terminal that makes contact with the other 6 terminals in each section as the switch shaft is rotated. There are 4 sections, most likely two per wafer. It is also likely that the bottom wafer works identical to the top visible wafer. Observe which terminals are contacted in the positions that you desire. For each pole assigned to a pickup, connect the applicable terminal to the output buses (the pickup pathway to each volume pot). It should look something like this; Combinations: 1.n 2.n+m 3.m 4.m+b 5.b 6.n+m+b Neck pole: 1. to neck volume pot 2. to neck volume pot 3. 4. 5. 6. to neck volume pot Middle pole: 1. 2. to middle volume pot 3. to middle volume pot 4. to middle volume pot 5. 6. to middle volume pot Bridge pole: 1. 2. 3. 4. to bridge volume pot 5. to bridge volume pot 6. to bridge volume pot Extra pole: ?Maybe different caps for tone control depending on the combination? As I had said, since there are a plethora of rotary switches about, drawing a specific diagram requires info about a specific switch. Here's a link to a wiring design that I did showing the typical function of a 1P12T rotary switch wafer. guitarnuts2.proboards45.com/index.cgi?board=schem&action=display&thread=1155775716and another showing both a 1P12T and 3P4T wafer guitarnuts2.proboards45.com/index.cgi?board=schem&action=display&thread=1155860043and one that uses three 8P5T rotary switches guitarnuts2.proboards45.com/index.cgi?board=schem&action=display&thread=1186634210

I don't know.....which way did you come in? I crawled in through the air duct I ordered the switch from stewmac but for some reason they don't have diagrams for their rotary switches. What's up with that!?So thanks, thanks, and more thanks.

It's already routed for a Wilkinson vibrato.
I hadn't decided on the pickups, but I have a DiMarzio Tone Zone, Air Norton, Steve's Special, PAF Pro (2), and Multibucker.
I also have a Duncan JB, '59, Jazz, Screamin' Demon, Custom Custom, and Pearly Gates.
So, I have choices to make.
