I've got a clone of a Gibson sg that i was wanting to do this to but its a bass guitar would this make any difference in tone for it since its a bass, it has bass guitar humbuckers already in it and im not worried about making holes because the pick guard stretches from neck to tail i can provide pictures later
First question is, do the bass humbuckers each have 4 wires, or only two apiece? They have to be 4- conductor in order to do the mod you're planning.
As to sound, I don't play bass (yet . .) so I can't help you there. But someone will be along who can give you some input on bass wiring options.
Your diagram comes from the website of Wolf, a frequent contributor here. And your thread here probably will get moved by the admin as it really belongs in the electronics and wiring forum- but don't sweat it, it's your first post.
This'll work, and your bass axe should benefit, tone-wise. Of course, the final result is subject to your judgement, not mine, but if you don't like it, you can always take it back out, and do something else instead. That's the beauty of modding, you can do, undo, redo, outdo, doo-doo, there's almost no limit on what you can...... do.
