Hey everyone, just find this site and forum, so far it rocks! I recently got a new American Deluxe strat and am thinkin of putting a Dimarzio Tone Zone S in the bridge, its a humbucker fit for a single coil space. The wiring and all that doesnt seem very difficult, but my concern is with the S-1 switching system and the specialty switching pots that come with it. The volume pot is 250 K, and from the readings i've been doing it seems like you want a 500 K for humbuckers (please correct me if i'm wrong). The volume pot's push button is also doing a lot of the S-1 switching so i dont think i can maintain the S-1 options with a new run of the mill 500 K pot. I got wiring diagrams from fenders site for fat strats with S-1 and they seem to have the same 250 K pot that I currently have. Do you think i should get a new pot, or am I fine with this one? Also if i do get a 500K pot, how will this effect the sound of my two single coils. I geuss if need be i could always take out the S-1 and do some of the mods mentioned at guitarnuts.
