Who can tell me if a Squier StageMaster is F-Spaced or not?
It's an HSH and I'm going to put new pick-ups in it. It also has a Floyd Rose Copy bridge. I checked Stew-Mac and it does not mention that you can order a Floyd F-Spaced. It makes me think that my Squier is not F-Spaced.

Who can tell me if a Squier StageMaster is F-Spaced or not? I can't tell you offhand if yours is or not, but I can tell you how to find out for that or any guitar: see 66.223.50.132/faq/faq.html#F-spacing (DiMarzio's FAQs), and break out an accurate measuring device. (I used my dial caliper to scope out my Squier Bullet for the X2N® I just bought for it. I think those are considered standard-spaced and F-spaced because of the blade or "wide-bar" polepieces.) Have a blast rockin' out with yours. -- Doug C.

my guess is that F-spacing is standard on all fenders, squiers, and floyd-rose tremolos er, uh, vibratos.

Does anyone know if an F-Spaced pickup in the neck position is really necessary, i know it's necessary in the bridge position, but i don't know about the neck.

On that DiMarzio FAQ page I cited above, it has some pretty good information about that. I learn a little more every time I go back and read that.

Well, an F-spaced PU has a pole spacing of around 2.04". A regular PU has a pole spacing of around 1.96". Measure the string spacing at each location and then you'll know what's best.
With a vibrato, usually (on Fender's) an F spacing is called for. With wide necks (I usually build w/ 1 7/8" ones), I'll often use one in the neck position as well.
