Hello everybody,
I have a Telestyle Guitar ready, but still have to get it some nice pups to spice it up. I currently have a Fender Showmaster (SDuncs HH pickups) Which prodice a very warmish Rock sound (not a gibson sound), and a Yamaha Pacifica (yamaha pups s-s-h), this tries to imitate the traditional start tone, but doesn't get close, abit warmer than a strat but has more trebly sound than the Fender Showmster/
Now back to my question, I want a proper blues sounding guitar which will give me a cross-sound between Jimi Hendrix, Gary Moore, and John Mayer. (and possibly even David Gilmour), that warmish blues sound you know..
So what pick-ups to you guys recommend? (Have o fit a Tele remember)

I really enjoy my Fender Texas Specials. I use them on my Strat, but they come for a Telly as well. They have a little more snarl then regular pups, but still give you that bell like chime that we have all come to know and love....well most of us anyway!

I was considering the Texas Specials but i heard they are abit 'rough' How would you compare them to Fender Noisless pups?

Well, you could move (?mail order anyone?).
Hmm, Hendrix used regular single coils (mostly), Moore used humbuckers, Mayer uses mid-scooped single coils, and Gilmore used EMG actives; all for that .
Hmmm, with tone controls on the amp, and effects, one possibly can be bluesy with different pickup types.
I would visit the Duncan website and look for guidance regarding the body/neck/fretboard wood that your Tele is made of. Then you can choose pickups accordingly.
Or, visit harmonycentral.com and read pickup reviews.
I have a (non-proper) Tele copy that I'm building. It has an alder (fairly even tone) body and a maple/rosewood (bright/warm) neck. I'd bought a SD JB Trembucker for the bridge and a SD Jazz humbucker for the neck. These may be too bright, so I have a SD Custom Custom, a couple of Pearly Gates and some others that may well find their way in (AlNiCo 2 vs AlNiCo 5).
Rio Grande.

That is exactly my Tele, Alder body ,Butter scotch and Maple bolt on neck.
Well I live in Malta, not many companies ship to small islands. But there are a couple of shops around.
Here are my options: Seymour Duncan Alinco Pro2 pick-ups (75 euros) Fender Noisless (123 euros) Tex- Mex (c.120 Euros) Di Marzio (c.120-150 euros)

These are hotter/warmer pickups.
Which Fender Noiseless Tele pickups (hot/vintage)?
Which DiMarzio pickups (big differences)?
Are these prices for each, or for a set?

Prices are for a set, I can get anymake, now that i am thinking of it, since i will be getting from Germany,
I think i am going to go for the Duncans, since they sound nice, and are very cheap, (the guy offered them to me , as he had bought a new guitar and took them out),. So they will not be in a box but the quality should be the same

Use an Ohm meter to make sure that there isn't a problem with them. Each one's coil should be about 5-6 kOhms (or so).

Malta is a beautiful place!....I had an ex-g/f who was from there.
I think we take for granted that we here in North America can get anything pretty much any time we want it ( or should I say can afford it )
