I'm trying to decide whether to go for hot or vintage pickups in my Telecaster build I'm planning. The build is like a normal Telecaster, but with a P90 in the middle. Here are my choices... www.tonerider.com/tele_main.shtmlHere is the P90: www.tonerider.com/p90_main.shtmlAnyway, I emailed them and I was told that I should try the hot version of the Tele pickups to get a good volume balance with the P90. What do you think? I play mostly rock and country, if that is of any value. CMA (P.S. Also, I'm curious, how would the hotness of the pickups affect the choice of capacitors and potentiometers in respect to their ratings?)

Here's my 2 cents:
More resistance on a pickup means it muds up faster. If you like playing with fuzz or gain, beware the "hot" pick-ups, they can really lose voicing and response in dirty environments.
