fenson, Google tells me that it's a stacked humbucking pickup, shaped like a classic P-90. HTH sumgai

Thanks sumgai, is not the p-100 the same thing. Maybe they come up with a susposed HB sounding P-90 ha ha. I must have missed all the hoop la, never heard about Gibson putting those out untill yesterday, when I spied an ad. for the LTD. classic H-90 LP , nice looker!!

fenson, Looks to me like you're correct, they do appear to be essentially the same pickup, with different nomenclature. I see where you can get either one with or without dogears (the original-style mounting tabs). But from Gibson, I've come to expect marketing foul-ups like that. sumgai

It wouldn't surprise me if the H-90 was made to much different specs than the P-100, in terms of magnet and windings. The P-100 sounded so different than the P-90 that many people who bought them, chucked them in the bin, and went back to P-90s. One could only hope that this new model sounds closer to a P-90, sans hum.
...or it could just be a marketing thing. Only hearing the three side-by-side-by-side would tell the real story.

unk, The main reason I "blame" marketing is because both pickups carry the exact same description "sounds as good as a P-90, only better because it has no hum!" But yer kee-rekt, o'course, they could be entirely different amnuls, unnerneath all that fur. sumgai
