the guitar that I'm building (currently in "parts buying" mode ) is going to have those pickups in it.
Ive only heard the single coil size version. I thought they sounded great. I went to their website and i seem to remember that the humbucker size was wound to sound more like a humbucker. However they are still a single coil. I'm getting em in black to match all the other hardware i have, er... will have.
once i get all the bits that i can to start (waiting on wood and a a few other bits) ill start a thread on it and post as i go. Its my first build so well see.

You are correct.
Each magnet and aluminum surround (which is also the mechanical structure) forms a three-string sensing, single-turn (the frame is the winding) primary input coil (which are RWRP to each other) on the step-up transformer. The secondary winding is the output.
