I bought this guitar in the mid 80's at a pawn shop. The name on the neck has been scratched off. Originally it was painted orange and black tiger stripes like the Cinn. Bengals helmets. I've seen other guitars with similar shapes but nothing quite the same. Anybody have any ideas?

crooze, to the forums! I'm sorry to say, your image is pretty fuzzy. Do ya suppose you could get a clearer photo of the ax? I'm interested in the details of the horns and bouts. It's possible that this could have been modified from the original, but I wanna see more before I ante up an opinion. Thanks. sumgai

Sorry about the picture quality... my camera quit on me and I had to use the one on my phone.

crooze, Well, the image certainly isn't bad, considering what you used to take it! But I'm wondering "Has a horn been cut off?" "Has that lower bout been trimmed back a little?" These would go along ways toward pointing to the original maker. B.C. Rich comes to mind, or even Ibanez. I'm sure there are other possible makers out there, once we can determine if the body has been modified in some way. sumgai

A shot of the headstock would clear up a lot of questions in my mind. I was thinking Dean or Washburn - the headstock would be definitive in my mind.

BC Rich and Ibanez not so much. The only thing that Ibanez did even remotely similar to that was their ripoff of the Explorer, dubbed the Destroyer. BC Rich... doesn't have as much class as that guitar seems to. XD
Dean or Washburn, seconded. It's heavily reminiscent of an ML Star body style.
