This is my baby, im including a closeup of the b and e strings that are covered with some heatshrink, Cesar Diaz I think is the one who started that in trying to help S.R.V break less strings! I have been doing that for years, and its great! cheers

Ha, I love that picture, the kid already playing with attitude, God I love this guy!. My guit is a 62 reissue, made in 1987, the year they opened up the custom shop and restarted producing quality work. As far as I know, they were using actual old new stock hardware, so its basically like an old original one. Its quite heavy (7.14)Lbs/oz and it give me very good sustain. You can actually hear the wood vibrating quite loudly at close to the resonante frequency when its played unplugged. Also, just to add a bit of mojo,(I need all the help I can get)! I had my guitar blessed by Buddy Guy himself.....gave him my guit and said," here it is sir, could you please bless my guitar by playing it, he laughed and started playing.... now that is why im always impressed with players of this stature, as soon as he had the guitar in his hands, the man was completely on another planet! I was talking to him, and you could tell, he was already not with us anymore!, sort of flowing in inspiration land, just amazing. I get in that vibe maybe twice a year on a full moon!.... Also, I have a piece of wood from Muddy Waters actual log cabin house he used to live in at a young age, the one that ZZTop used to make a special Muddy Guitar, that was screwed at the bottom of the control cavity. Like I said, I need all the insperation/mojo I can get! Cheers

Your phrase about the wood vibrating has caused elaborate debates before, but I am sure this particular guitar, your baby, is a jewel, but not perhaps for the vibrating wood. RW Does mojo mean more coffee?

Hey thanks for the bridge saddle info, well like most vintage stuff, there is bound to have better designs down the road. If I would be building my own, I would check thos out, but I want to keep it pretty much stock ! As far as the resonancy of the wood, well I know that that can be a pain, especially when you hit the right note and the sound level just jumps out, I guess im lucky, the resonant frequencies dont jump out, they do help to get nice "forever sustain" like santana, and controled feedback at certain levels. I personally really like it!

These ARE vintage-type saddles based on the original Fender saddles. Has the original Fender thread support plus a meaningful slot length. Callaham's 6-screw vibrato (well, a tremo'Leo if'n yer Fender) is better that the original Fender design which was flawed to begin with. www.callahamguitars.com/bridges.htm

Well Im reading on and I must say, that bridge assembly seems very good. Ill go check out more reviews. Do you know if they have a Paypal account ;D! later,
Update.... Ive just read that you can buy this kit right-handed like S.R.V, and have the arm come out from the "top" of the bridge? If that is so, then its a deal ;D ;D!

Nothing like a white Stratocater! As Rune says, we had some good debates about wood vibration. IMHO...Its the wood that makes it good! hehe!
