Last month I received a "free" practice amp (as some kind of compensation for services rendered... un, you know)... It was a Crate G-10. Must be about a 2002 vintage, I think. It was not one of those cool wooden crate style, but something that looked kinda sorta like this: This is not a picture of the actual amp, just the closest thing I could find on the Net. Mine was quite ugly, and didn't work. The speaker grill was ripped, and someone had taken a drill to the cabinet at several places for reasons unknown... I opened it up, and discovered the input jack was broken. I replaced that and, voala! it works! Then I looked around the garage for some scrap wood... Here's what I have now: The coolest part is, I used all "recycled" parts. This didn't cost me a dime... and now I have a nifty little practice amp! ;D

Beautiful save on the amp, quarry. You did a great job and really improved the looks. (I realize that the pic you posted was not the actual amp, but it still is an improvement)

There's nothing like a bit of varnished wood! I occasionally wonder about putting my little Trace Elliot practise bass amp into a 2x12 cab- the flourescent green on green colour sceme would limit finish choices though.
Good work, all the same!
