This design is an interim result of working on the HHH mini humbucker request from maxx. guitarnuts2.proboards45.com/index.cgi?board=wiring&action=display&thread=1190748726&page=3It is ideal for the typical dual humbucker (OEM with a single conductor plus shield lead wire), three-way LP-style switch, 1 volume, 1 tone control, so common these days. By changing the two pots for DPDT push pull (or push push) units and adding a third pickup (which cannot be a single conductor plus shield lead wire), seven more pickup combinations can be realized. The added pickup needs to have two conductors at a minimum, but the coil leads must not be common with a shield, since this pickup is the one placed in series in some modes. In this design the added pickup is the middle, but it can be any location if desired. Note that this is applicable to any three coil guitar as well. One could just as easily use it to add a third pickup to a Tele or to realize more combinations from a hum-single guitar provided that one coil of the humbucker is not connected to a shield. I'm thinking of using it in my PRS Soapbar II when I move the bridge P-90 to the middle and replace it with a DiMarzio virtual P-90 in the bridge.
