Just wondering If anyone knew for sure if GHS's pickups were just re branded Artecs with fancier names??Ive been to Artec Sounds web site and looked at their selection and they resemble GFS's..Does GFS design the pickups and Artec builds them to their exact specs or do they just say.."give me one of your hubuckers and wind it this hot..?" either way I have read reviews for both GFS and Artec and the reviews are good with high ratings....Just wondering if I buy a GFS and a Artec with same specs will they sound same..??or are GFs's tweaked to there spec's to make them sound better?

Yes...they appear so. As they buy in some quantity, they may have specific winding specifications but Artecs are very good quality and can be found pretty cheap on ebay hongkong sites and such. I got a couple of mini HB's that look really good quality, nice chrome and solid...have yet to use them yet.
GFS have the marketing (Artec is a manufacturer) and the Hype. They do spread a bit of Mojo. I recently bought a modboard and the quality and instructions plus service were great...the actual deveice...not good and took it out again. Now, it may be a faulty one or just a bad noisy design, either way...not everything is always as per the hype...what "sounds" good on paper may not sound so good in practice!
Otherwise GFS service is good and I was again tempted so we will see how my latest purchase goes before passing judgement...

Yeah..I was going to buy one of there GFS Lil Killers..and read review on Harmony and the Artec name came up..looked around and found site..then went on Ebay and found Artec brand..ended up buying one of Artecs Double Rails at 12.5 k..for $15 plus $5 shipping..and they sound real nice..Ill most likely buy more of the Artec brand and if I cant find what I want on Ebay Ill look at GFS ..but you cant knock the guy..he found a good product and marketed it..and he doesn't mark the price up like crazy...His cost a bit more..but not over the top more.. both are good deals...

I import a lot of stuff from Asia, and after many years of tracking down manufacturers in order to bypass the traders, I've found that it is often better to go through the trader anyway. They are the ones who have the export experience, they know the target market and they handle the quality control. You're paying for all of this, plus the wide one-stop range of complementary products, the quick shipping and the customer service. I say this despite not even having tried my GFS pickups yet.
I must say, though, that Korean manufacturers are generally very professional.
Are we sure that Artec are actually the manufacturers?

Well Im not 100% sure..but its pretty close..for example..If you go to GFS site and look at there Retron Series pickups..then go to Artecs site and look at there selection list..they look exactly like Artecs Neo Traditional HB..on GFS site they have there new noise less Neovins,,which are Artecs Power singles and Power Humbuckers..I think..

No, I mean assuming they are the same pickups, can we be sure that Artec is the company that manufactures them rather than just another "trader" representing a manufacturing company? I say it because it's very common for Asian manufacturers to sell through several agents (normally one in each market), and to also handle direct orders if the customer contacts them, even if they do not actively pursue direct sales.
