Hey, stupid thread title, but hopefully the right person reads this! I am really good at soldering, but horrible at trying my own hookups, I need instructions, and I recieved an interesting guitar in the mail today. 1 500k Volume Pot 1 500k Push/Pull Tone Pot 1 Output Jack 1 4-conductor Humbucker. This is so basic, but I would still love guidance on how I can maximize the push/pull with this configuration. Here is a little diagram I made from Rio Grande pickups (I am using a Muy Grande), if someone could draw colored lines to all the correct places or something, that would be awesome (and probably easier than explaining haha. thanks! Mike PS I left the cap and the volume pot ground assuming thats what will be used. If I am wrong, oops!

Hmmm, a clue or two would be nice. After all, I would like guidance on what it is that you think that you want this to do. With one pickup, one volume, and one tone control, about the only thing else that you could do is: series or parallel coils series or single coil series or the other single coil parallel or single coil parallel or the other single coil a kill switch a lead full-on switch many other things OK, I'm done typing suggestions, I would suggest that you read the posts in our "Electronics and Wiring" and "Schematics" section and form some idea of how things work and what you want (your homework). If you're looking for someone just to figure out all of the things that can be done with these components.........it ain't me. I will require that you attempt to understand things.

Haha Chris, fair enough. I agree I came in too open ended.
I figured with 1 pickup and one push pull...there really only was one or two useful things to do with it.
I've done homework, I have done 3 shields over the last 4-5 years and the strat lovers strat once upon a time.
Just wanted some quick direction for this particular guitar. I think now I will use it for C tuning, straight up distortion and metal. The killswitch idea is perfect...I'm thinking thats the best route. Which means I might just remove the Push/pull & tone, and simply make a button based kill.
Thanks!
