You want volume and tone for each pickup- that can be done fairly easily. What we need to know is what you want the 3 way switch to do. With 3 pickups, there are many possible ways of wiring a 3 way switch, but to be honest I think you would be better using an on/off switch for each pickup instead. That way you could pre-set the volume/tone level and just jab the switches to turn them on or off.

Turner- Hello and welcome! Sorry, but I had to move your post here as the Schematics subboard is not for general questions. But, we always give a mulligan to first-timers. Pete is right, more specifics about what you are looking for would be helpful.

hi guys. sorry about posting this in the wrong place originally. i dont know what i was thinking, but anyways. im just putting together a kinda hot-rodded 57' strat and have always thought a strat with 3 concentric pots would be cool. so just a basic 3 way switch like on a 57 strat but with the concentric pots for each pup.

Hi Turner, I'm sorry, but I am still in the dark about the proposed benefit/use of concentric pots in your strat ... I could see it a lot more clearly if you had humbuckers or something. What, exactly, do you think would be the cool part? DD

Well, it's simple to do and has been done for decades.
It's not real popular today.
Go look at '57 strat wiring, go look at LP 2V 2T wiring, add the third tone/volume to the third pickup, and the rest is obvious.

So, you're looking for the original strat wiring with the 3 position switch? Like, only one pickup available at any given time?

^That's what I was thinking too, just so the one side of the switch doesn't feel left out.

So here we are.
One side of the three way switch would select the pickups. The common/pole terminal would go to the output jack. Each of the three position terminals would go to the wiper of the respective volume pot.
The other side of the three way switch would select the tone pot. The common/pole terminal would go to the cap. The other cap terminal goes to the ground. Each of the three position terminals would go to the wiper of the respective tone pot. The CCW terminal of each tone pot goes to the respective pickup.
I doubt that there are many drawings a'web for this. While not complicated (at least compared to those here a'board suffering from compulsive wiring dementia), it would take a couple of hours. Either way, please confirm that this is indeed what is desired.
