Have just wired a friends G&L Tribute replacing DPDT switch that contained a bass boost option with a 4PDT switch to split the humbuckers into outside coils - parrallel - inside coils. All wired up as per diagram etc but now have strange issues. Tone pot on bass now acting oddly...when totally turned up the neck rear coil and bridge front coil becomne inactive - when the pot is backed off slightly the coils spring to life, also I lose the pickup select when the coils come to life....very odd, need help as I am not a guitar tech just able to use a soldering iron and understand the basics. Would love any suggestions. Mark in Sydney

Mark- Hello and welcome! We're going to need some data to be able to help here. Can you post a photo of the innards, or of the diagram you used to wire it? Or, better yet, both? Otherwise, we're flying blind . . . Was the previous "bass boost" feature that you removed an active (i.e., 9V battery) preamp of some sort, or a passive "boost"?
