Hi all,
Bought myself a Telecaster Custom 72 RI MIM. The greatest guitar I ever laid my hands on. Im thinking about changing the sounds however. I want to carry out the standard modification of changing the pots from 250K to 500K to make the humbucker sound more trebly. However, the bridge pickup is "treble" enough, I don't want it to be treblier. Now a problem arises. Do I have to change all the pots to 500K, with the risk that the bridge pickup becomes an icepick, or do I just replace the tone/volume pots of the humbucker to 500K, and leave the pots of the brigde pickup at 250K. When I switch to the middle position (bridge + neck pickup), the 250K effects the humbucker, resulting in a non-trebly sounding humbucker. Has anyone got any experience with this issue?
