It is for switching large currents and may not have its contacts kept clean (free of oxidation) by the minuscule currents in play in passive guitar pickup circuitry. Here are some switches. I prefer the 0.4 VA switches since these ARE rated for dry contact (really low as in down to zero, signal current);search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=1004P1T8B13M2RE-NDspec.e-switch.com/T-D/T112027B.pdfsearch.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=360-1872-NDAlso, one often finds S-1 pot/switch combos for sale on ebay.
