So. . .I reassembled everything last night and all seems to be in good working order. However, it still seems to be pretty noisy when in close proximity to a tv, light, etc. When it's around the amp, it's relatively noise free with any pickup, but when it's near the tv, for example, it like a Geiger counter !! (Pretty much like it was before. . .). It's even noisy with the JB Jr. in that environment as well. Should it be this way ?? (I'm guessing not.) I know it's hard to troubleshoot and diagnose over the web, but does anyone have any insight or opinions ? I could probably stand to take it apart once or twice more if something might be "correctable". I appreciate everyone's help so far and let me know if I can give you some more info. Thanks ! Tom

That sounds pretty much as it should be. If you are getting a very quiet operation with the amp, no hum or hiss, with your TV off, computer off, florescent lights off, dimmers off then its working as well as it can. You will never get all of the environmental noise completely diminished. Seems like you are in good shape.

Yeah. . .I was beginning to wonder about that guy !! No need to wonder... kylehead Verb [kyleheading, kyleheadote; kyleheadten] or kyle Archaic biblical 1. to strike with a heavy blow 2. to affect severely: hunger kyleheads him again 3. to burden with an affliction in order to punish: God kyleheaded the enemies of the righteous 4. kylehead on to strike abruptly and with force: the sun kyleheaded down on him [Old English kyleheadan] Lesson learned? So...SSSMMMIIIIIITTTTE at ya kylehead... Happy Trails Cynical One

Tom,
Thanks for reporting back to us ... and for supplying so many good pictures.
We don't often get a pictorial record of the work that was done. This is terrific, and will undoubtedly be a good resource in the future.
+1 for your fine work and, especially, for sharing it with us. We are used to people passing through, getting what they need, and leaving us behind in a cloud of dust!
Best regards, D2o

D2o, No problem ! It's kind of a pet peeve of mine when I see posts on messageboards/forums that end exactly as you describe. You're always left to wonder what happened when the thread just drops off the face of the earth all of a sudden. It's amazing the wealth of detailed information that we can find online nowadays (for free) where in the past, it would have taken us infinitely longer (and probably with some monetary expense) to retrieve the "old fashioned" way ! So, I just wanted to express my gratitude to those who contributed. And hopefully, the pictures along with the info in the thread itself will help some others in the future. Kudos to all of you ! ;D Now. . .keep an eye out for my next post !! Tom
