I bought a Gibson SG Special Faded just before last Christmas, with the idea of installing a Bigsby B5. I finally got around to it, and purchased a Vibramate to install it on. For those who have been under a rock for the last year, the Vibramate is a machined aluminum plate that attaches to the guitar via the tail piece stud holes. The B5 bolts to the plate, and you end up with an unaltered guitar (holes neither to be drilled nor filled) that is easily reversible when desired. So this is just to report that it works as advertised. If you are installing one on an SG Special, you need to specify the "short-leg" version that has one end trimmed away to clear the pickguard.
