From what I've found, the creator doesn't sell the pickups without the guitar. I tried going to his website. It's down. I've never played them. But I am VERY curious now.

A few years ago, the MIDI Guitar world was all abuzz about Ron Hoag, because he re-introduced his 30 year old Optical Guitar design, updated for the 13-pin Roland world of MIDI controllers. He's still not doing so hot sales-wise, but I don't know what the problem is/problems are..... As noted, his site is down (www.opticalguitars.com), but if you google for Ron Hoag, you'll get a lot of pages, from the likes of Harmony Central and Wikipedia to more esoteric sites.... You could also try googling for PHOTON guitars, a similar concept that has had varied success over the years. One of the search results looked interesting, like so: chuckwhite.com/photon/photon_story.htmHTH sumgai

If it's true that he doesn't sell the pickups alone, I could understand his trouble with sales.

Ooh, now I want one of those. Sigh.
Matt Bellamy would be impressed, I suspect.

Matthew Bellamy has a pad similar to that behind the bridge of the guitar he sometimes plays live. Well, on the Black Holes and Revelations tour he did. P.S. - I <3 Muse heart and soul
