Hi all great forum btw, ;D I've just done a mod on my usa strat plus called a blend mod and if i select the bridge pick up i can use the bottom tone control to blend in the neck pick up with the bridge pickup it works and sounds great to me, but this only works on the bridge pick up and i wondered if it would be possible to add the mod to the neck pickup as well so if i select neck pickup i can bring in the bridge pickup.

Hi strat, and WELCOME to GN2! If I'm correctly getting your drift (guys - this is sounding like a " free neck on" type of deal, right?) it won't work on the bridge pickup because the bridge doesn't have a tone pot on you (more or less stock?) strat. Other than the neck blend, is your strat pretty much stock wiring? Cheers, D2o

Seems to me that if you can live without the mid pup tone control, you could move that pot to the bridge position on the 5-way (one lug over from where it's wired now), and the wire it just like the "free neck one" link shows for the neck (which I assume is what you've already done on the neck).
And. .
Hello and Welcome!

Thanks for replies just to recap my strat works exactly as a standard wired strat but, bottom tone control is the blend control knob if i select bridge pup then turn blend knob downover 10 - 0 it blends in the neck pup with bridge, sounds great to me ;D i just wondered if i could rewire without losing any of the above so as it works on the neck pup and use same blend knob to bring in bridge pup i have a link to diagram showing which way it is currently wired, also i have an unused mini toggle switch currently not connected but fitted in the scratchplate may help with rewiring it cheers all img.photobucket.com/albums/v82/rfdee/wiring/strat-blender2.gif

One easy way to do this:
Take the wire from the centre lug of your blend pot and instead of connecting it to the tone pot, instead connect it to the bridge white wire where it joins the 5-way switch. Now if you select bridge, you can blend in the neck and if you select neck, you can blend in the bridge.
cheers

Too easy!
That kind of mod, at no cost, has added the following to the standard palette of Strat features, as compared to stock wiring:
Two extra main sounds, being N+B and N+B+M Four extra blendable sounds, in positions 1, 2, 4 and 5, based on blending in part of either N or B with the standard combos Tne master tone control works on the bridge too, unlike standard Strat tone wiring.
