*grunts* I have a friend named Justin. Trust me. You ALL have friends like Justin. One time he and another friend of mine searched youtube and found a video of what looked to me to be a Beatles cover band playing Stairway to Heaven, and they tried telling me (that because the footage looked old... and THEY looked old) that Stairway to Heaven was a cover song. This was presented to me as irrefutable proof that Led Zeppelin was a group of hacks and ripoffs, of course. About thirteen seconds of searching and I discovered that it was indeed a Beatles cover band formed in Australia in 1996. We weren't even drunk yet! From then on out I kept a guitar tuned to Rain Song around, and whenever someone tried ripping on The Zep (a proper noun in this house) I would just play the song... the whole song. I should say at this point that I don't own any Led Zeppelin shirts... I don't have any ZOSO tats... and I don't listen to The Zep around my friends. However, I CAN play a pretty mean Rain Song. But liek serrously, dood! Slayer is ssoouuuu talented! *b h slap*

I don't think much of anything recorded in this country for the past 50 years has much depth to it...but, deep doesn't sell as well as formula, so... My guess is you don't have to go much deeper then a 12-pack and some narciferous herbs to explain Black Egg... Happy Trails Cynical One It usually bugs me when people say that... I usually say that there are plenty of amazing musicians out there if you know where to look. Hell, there are even plenty of amazing musicians on the RADIO. ...Just seems like a very stock answer, I guess. I would usually prescribe a few hours of open-mindedness and effort... But to each their own!

As off-topic as this thread has gone, I'm sure that Unklmickey would approve! ;D

been a good few years since I posted anything here. I'm just about ready to do the mod that UnklMickey, amongst others, helped me to understand all those years ago (though I need to read things again 'cos I've forgotten ). Sad news. He was a helpful and knowledgeable guy.

Doink! karpetking, your username just reminded me of something UnklMickey said ... BTW, never steal fabric from the carpet to repair the drapes! Man, he could make me laugh! D2o EDIT: In case anyone doesn't get this at first, Unk was referencing a South Park episode: www.southparkstuff.com/season_1/episode_111/Episode 111 - Tom's Rhinoplasty See bottom of trivia notes: Cartman says that his mother told him that to become a lesbian one has to lick carpet.
