I went to check out my friend's Rockabilly band a couple of months ago. Watching him put a big ol' Gretsch through its paces planted the Bigsby bug (Bugsby?) in me. So I went out searching the intertubes and found a B-5 unit which I promptly bolted onto my #1 Tele (see my avatar)... and hated it. I pulled it back off, which of course left some unsightly holes that I camouflaged as best I could. And I sulked. I thought about selling the unit, but that would have meant admitting defeat, and I just wasn't quite ready to do that. As sometimes happens, one evening last week, the obvious snuck up on me and biznich-slapped me upside the head. I'd never been completely satisfied with my partscaster Tele. It was always just waiting for that one magic ingredient that would elevate its mojo. I've tried a half-dozen pickup combinations, a couple different bridges, etc. Having experienced "buyer's remorse" more often than I care to recall, I let the fevered moment of epiphany pass & let it percolate for a couple of days. When it still sounded like a good idea after my cooling-off period, I went ahead & did it. And here's the result: ...and I gotta say, I'm loving it.

Lookin' good, man. Does that handle get in the way if you're aiming for your toggle during a song?
One of my first Whammy experiences was with a ZR Ibanez, and... ehh... nothing is quite the same after that... but that thing looks far more B.A. than a regular trem, so it's way in the clear on looks.
Good job.

Lookin' good, man. Does that handle get in the way if you're aiming for your toggle during a song? I haven't "battle tested" it at a gig yet, but my initial impression is that the toggle's got plenty of room since I run with a reversed control plate. My concern is more with it getting in the way when I reach for the volume knob, but I haven't had a problem yet - just a minor adjustment in technique. This view shows it a little better:

OK, I have Tele envy . .
I like the P90 in the neck combined with the bridge Sc-sized HB, that's a combo I've been meaning to try. Although my in-the-works Tele project will have the opposite- a P90 at the bridge and a neck HB.

Well, it's one of those HB sized P90s, so I'm using a Tele HB bridge. So, you're right , it's not a true P90. The neck is getting one of the Tele Custom HBs with the "3X3" pole pieces.

Pix for sure. Now you've got me thinking maybe it needs a Bigsby. Even though I'm not a huge vibrato fan, it is definitely the hot set-up for a Tele!

+1 Nice work! At first glance I wondered if the bridge needed notches between the set-screws. Looks like you got it clearanced OK.
