Ooooh, nice!
There is nothing not to like about that axe.
I had a blue Samick LP-ish guitar once ... it even had the aged cream binding you mentioned (not that Samick is Japanese, but it had the same cool mojo).
Great stuff! (nice pics, too)
Congratulations! D2o

It may be just an effect of the flash in the pictures, but was the hardware all gold originally, and now worn to chrome in most areas?
A nice guitar for sure!

That's a nice little guitar you have there, young fella. I posted to your fretboard posting in Luthierie. Hope your guitar tech can make this right for you.

newey, you're correct. Half of the stop bar has faded to silver while the other half is gold, the pickups are both silver, but if i raise them there is a very defined fade from silver to gold. The tuners are all silver at the top but gold at the base and the tuning knobs are all fading. I just think it gives the guitar some quality character. As I've been noodling around on it a bit I notice that I put my arm right where the fade is on the stop bar and on the tuning pegs. It feels like the guitar was meant for me, as corny as that sounds.
D2o, I've never played/seen a Samick in person but I've heard that they have that Gibson "rip-off" feel to them. Almost as good as Gibson, just not quite. This Aria is the same way. I notice a few things, the pegheads aren't perfectly aligned and symmetrical, the tone and volume knobs aren't placed symmetrically, the top wasn't exactly cut properly so there is a 1mm gap that starts between the pickups and grows down the body where it is just solid black. It is a perfect line right down the middle. It's hard to notice from a distance. But the thing is, these are cosmetic flaws, they definitely don't effect the playing of the guitar. When it comes to mechanics and feel, Aria gave Gibson a run for their money.

I am a proud owner of a Samick LP450. One of the Artists series they did after the dearth of Valley Arts. A killer guitar, with less weight of a Paul, but the same feel and heft of one. Great 60's styled neck, and a 3 piece mahogany body. My ownly b h, were the pickups. After replacing them, with a 70's Ibanez Super 58, and the bridge with a Mighty mite Motherbucker, it SCREAMS "PLEASE!! wear spandex and plug me into a Marshall!!!!!!"

Ive played a guitar from 80's japan, had the receipt and everything in the case, One of the best actions ive ever played, (if it was the neck and body, or a genis set up, i odnt know)
Bit too low for me personally though, but that think was waaaay low with no buzzz
