I was going to suggest a stereo jack wired like those on other active guitars, and most pedal input. Would that negate your need for the battery switch?

Does that mean the LED's would always be on when the guitar was plugged in?

Yep, that's why I asked.
I think it's a good idea to use the stereo jack anyway. You won't have to remember to flip the switch when you put it away.

That could be a good idea yes. I think I'll still put a master switch on the back though as I'll probably use it most on stage rather than just in the living room at home.
