So I won the Seymour Duncan "Slash Pickup" drawing, and I have those puppies in my hand. I was planning on wiring them out of phase, and I noticed that it's a single conducter pickup, with a braided ground.
First of all, how do I solder the braided ground to a pot? Secondly, since it does not have a cover, would I need to re-pot the pickup if I were to switch the magnet around inside the neck pup?

To solder the braid to a pot, scar up the back of the pot a little with a scratch awl or similar tool. If that fails, you can always solder the braid to a short piece of wire and then solder the wire to the pot.
You may want to rethink that. The single conductor with braid type of HB doesn't lend itself to much fancy wiring. If you wire it OOP, the braid becomes the signal "hot" for one of the pups, which can be noisy.
We've had folks say they did this without problems, but the potential for problems is there, so YMMV.

Yeah, you would have to disconnect the -ve end from the ground, that would be up near the actual pickup end of the wire. Then you would need to run a wire with th -ve signal down the braid, and then you would have a more customisable pickup
