Just a question for ideas.
I've got a Gretsch Electromatic Junior Jet. It really is a great playing gtr that I've upgraded (Tuners,Nut,Bridge,Coiltap). It still has the original Gretsch PU and .047 cap.Punky gtr
Not a bad tone at all but I do miss that Neck tone sometimes. The only way to get some of that is to turn the tone to 0. I get there with some of the settings and pedals I use.
What would you all do with this gtr? Only thing I know is maybe some GTS pots and a better cap.

Well, if you really want a neck pickup, MF has the Junior Jet II on sale for $299 . . . But, more seriously, there are some useful mods you can do. Assuming that you don't want to drill any holes in the body, you're going to be pretty much limited to using push/pulls on the Vol and tone controls for any switching. You need to check the depth of the cavity for fitment of push/pulls. Also, depending on the thickness of the top where the cavity is located, you may need to use a Forstner bit to remove some wood, since long-shaft pots with push/pulls are either rare or non-existent. But, assuming they'll go in there, you could use one p/p to switch the 2 coils of the mini-humbucker between series and parallel wiring. I have this on my single-humbucker Strat, and I use the parallel setting a lot. The other push/pull could be used for a coil cut setting, giving you a single coil sound, or perhaps to bypass the V and T, giving a "solo" setting. It might also be used for JohnH's "one coil through a cap" mod. Or, both coils through a cap- which might get you about as close to the neck pup sound as you're going to get. The original Esquire wiring used a cap (on its SC) for a neck-ish "jazz" setting, similar to backing off the tone control but instantly available. EDIT: I missed that you said this already has a coil tap. Is that on a p/p pot already?

I would do series/parallel push pull, and a coil tap p/p What are those junior jets like, I always wanted one of the electromatic jets.. but completely forgot about them when i was guitar shopping

If the coil taps are not on a push/pull, then I would use one push/pull to do series/parallel between the coils. Then use another push pull to simulate the tone being rolled back. I believe you should be able to do this by just wiring up the push/pull so when pulled out there is whatever value capacitor sounds good to you running in series w/ the pickup.

Parallel to the pickup. Between hot and ground. Like the cap on a tone control. Maybe with in series with a resistor, if you want it somewhere >0.

I will be looking at theses ideas. Cap switching sounds fun.I wonder if a SOZO on switch alone would be like having a "Warm switch".
Not much room in this gtr but I think PP's will fit if I enlarge the hole some.I used a mini switch between the pots for the coilcut. It just barely made it through the top.I should've just used a PP but at the time I was planning to put some GTS pots in later. If I do any other mods it's going to have to be with PP's now.
I love this thing for what it is.I really should just leave it alone now,but I like to fix what's not broken.Just think hard about rather you would want the single or two pu model.I would've bought the two probably new but got this one for $100 used so can't complain at all.Tuners did not last so I enlarged the holes and put full size Grovers on.Bridge is fine but I can tell you the Badass bridge is too high and won't work for this gtr.Not the one from GFS anyway.Gretsch PU is very clear but not spikey.I saw somewhere that either they used to or now (can't remember)make these w/ plywood type bodies,so watch for that.Mine is solid.I can see the grain inside the control cavity.
