Hi All I really hope someone can help me I have a major problem with a hissing / buzzing noise This is my rig: I have a Ibanez RG7321 with passive Seymour Duncan Invader running through a Marshall AVT-275 (built in effects) Basically when the tone knob is turned up Iam getting a really loud hiss sound, which fades a little when i hold the strings, bridge or output cable jack. it sounds like it may be a grounding prob but i cant find it anywhere, there are no loose solder point, Iam totally stumped Can anyone please help: Here are some pics, I hope you can see them:

7strings-
Hello and welcome!
Noise could be coming from any number of places. First things first, have you isolated that this particular guitar is the problem? Have you tried another guitar into your Marshall, and tried another cable?
Has it always done this, or did it just start?
I don't see anything obvious in the wiring from your photos, but that doesn't necessarily mean much.

Yep. The fact that it gets quieter when touch strings, bridge, or jack tends to indicate that the wiring is fine. This is what's supposed to happen. Shielding the control and pickup cavities is about all you can hope to do.
You'll never get it silent. You need to decide how much noise is too much.

Ok thanks for your quick response. its much appreciated Firstly, yes I have isolated it and tried other guitars and cables so its definately the guitar and not any other equipment. To me The noise is definately too much, It take over from the actual playing, especially when using headphones. one other thing of note is that it isnt so bad when using clean or acoustic effect but it is severe when on overdrive / distortion.

So its normal then that it should fade when i touch the strings, bridge or mostly the output jack of the cable? I thought this might mean it was a grounding problem???

Re: high gain noise
Yes it could be, however this sounds like an interference like a loud buzzing, ive unplugged all electricals, mobile phones, dimmer switch etc and also it doesnt do it with my ESP viper

Just looking at the picture, I would look closely at the point on the switch where the red and white wires come together, that joint looks somewhat suspect to me, and also definitely perform the Quiet the Beast mod, it works wonders. I would do that to all of your guitars, anywhere there are wires or components.

The wire from the bridge to "ground" is there to short out the closest source of EMI/RFI interference.*. So, yes, it's supposed to get quieter when you touch strings, bridge, or jack. Now if it's a whole lot more better touching the jack than with the strings, there might be a less than ideal connection there. Have you got a meter?
*. That's you Sparky!
