If your PC is spending a lot of time nuzzled up next to your guitar amp, you might find that 9 months later you get the Orange OPC . . . Seems pretty stout as a PC. Perhaps a bit pricey, but then again, it says "Orange" on it. I posted this in Live Sound and Recording since that seems to be its primary calling. Comes bundled with all sorts of recording software, too.

Of course, a PC needs a monitor. And an Orange amp needs to reside in a stack . . . So, whatcha could do is, get a small empty speaker cab slightly larger than your chosen (flatscreen) monitor, cover it in orange Tolex™ and garnish with gloss black hardware. Mount the monitor to the baffleboard. If it was a closed back cab to start, open it up for ventilation's sake. Then, take a photo of the front of an Orange amp, showing just the basketweave grillcloth and Orange logo. Upload the photo and make it your screensaver. However, contrary to most PC practices, the monitor has to stack beneath the OPC "head", so its top-mounted controls can be accessed. Voila! A PC half-stack (in a virtual way).

You could 3easily get some cabs, and mod a pc into them.. keeping speakers and stuff could be another matter though.. maybe one of those marshall mini stacks? something of that size could do it, PC in one, Head in the head, speaker in another cab?

Thanks for posting newey!
For anyone researching the future of guitar/computer interfacing, I suggest that this isn’t gonna be it! It’s an expensive name-branded thing, which will become obsolete as soon as any other pc.
There are plenty of simple guitar interfaces available, or moddlers that have direct USB connection to any pc or laptop. Hence a more versatile kit of parts can be put together that is almost as simple to set up.

John, It's called 'pastiche', man, that's the name of the game here! ;D But seriously, if one can mod a 'standard' PC into something else, or at least do mondo upgrades, then this box o' parts isn't gonnna be any different. There are still lanboi's out there using Shuttle ST-1 cases, with dual- and quad-core boards in 'em. Just takes a little ingenuity, tha's all. sumgai
