I bought one of these off Ebay because they were cheap, and I am looking for some wiring advice.
In the harness there is red/white/green/black/bare wires.
The red/white were soldered together, the black and bare soldered together, and the green by itself.
I looked at seymour duncan music man pickups, which have the same color, but I don't think the colors are the same designation, since the certain ones were soldered together.
Can anyone offer me any advice for wiring this pickup? I am looking to do 1 volume, 1 tone.

floydd: Hello and Welcome to G-Nutz2! I. too, have a Diesel HB, one that's still in the box since the project changed direction adter I bought it. But mine is a single conductor type so no help to your dilemma. But it seems easily solved, since they thoughtfully soldered the 2 wires together for the "series junction" between the 2 coils. And the fact that the black is soldered to the bare means that should go to ground. Which leaves the green as the "hot" by process of elimination. This suggests (well, logical guess, anyway) that the color scheme is the same as Jackson Pickups: Green= N coil Start White= N coil Finish Red = S Coil finish Black= S coil Start But we don't really know that for sure, the red and white wires could be reversed. And we can't be sure which coil is North and which is South. So, now the question is how you will wire this up? If you are not going to use any scheme which splits the 2 coils, it's simple- green goes to hot, black and bare go to ground, and leave the red and white soldered together as they are now. And if no other pickups are involved, then the North vs. South coil issue doesn't matter either. If you want to split the coils, then we need to know for sure which coil has the red and which the white. This will require some testing with a multimeter, as follows: Solving the wire code for an unknown pickupYou indicate that this is to be wired with a Vol and Tone- is that it? No other pickups? If there are other pickups involved, then testing for the polarity of the coils will be needed as well. For reference, here's all our info on wire colors (and where I saw the Jackson info): Pick Wire Colors and Polarity

Nope, It is just the single pickup for an OLP stingray that I rebuilt/refinished which came with volume/volume/tone but I am just going to hook to a single volume/tone.
Thank you so much for the information, that is very helpful and I appreciate it very much!!
