Is there a diagram for this switch? I found it in a 1990 Squire Affinity Strat. Ser.# CD99082351. One parts site has it as a 3 way switch. I think it was wired as a 5 way.... Here is the guitar it's out of.

See my PM to you on this. This is the infamous 7-lug Strat switch, which has the 2 poles joined internally. The center lug is the common for both poles. You will need to check with a meter to see if the outside lugs are 123,123 or 123,321.

Indeed, dna also PM'd me. I didn't get an image though, so I sent him to a site that described Strat switches, but didn't have this little..... 'goodie'. ~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~ dna, this is really just the same as those other switches from my earlier link that I sent you. But instead, the "long row" of 7 solder lugs is placed on the side of the unit, not the bottom. Now, it's not a big stretch of the imagination to see that once the lugs are on the side, they can be placed anywhere, they don't have to remain in a straight line. So, what you're seeing here is a switch that has two poles, but the common lugs for each pole are permanently connected. When you look at the switch with the lugs facing directly towards you, and the handle pointing down, you'd number the lugs in a clockwise fashion like so: 1 2 3 - 1 2 3. As per my previous linked page, the center lug would be numbered '0'. HTH sumgai

my B.C.RICH ST has that type switch i personally find them a lot easier to work with mine is an open switch so no meter needed. the 3 lugs on the left are reversed on the right so going from top to bottom on the left is B-M-N, so the right side is N-M-B from top to bottom. at least on my switch any way. hope this helps
