I recently purchased some sd mick thompson blackouts, and i have been having nothing but problems. I put all included parts into my 79 Ibanez les paul and got nothing. I have decided to wire without a switch, if anyone knows how to do this please let me know. Now i did take the time to try the neck pup which doesnt work and put it in the bridge and it worked. I have replaced all of the pots from the ones that came with the thompsons. Both my friend and i went through it with the meter to see if either had missed something but all should have been good.

Hello and Welcome to G-Nutz2!
Without knowing how you have this wired at present, it will be difficult to troubleshoot over the web. Did you check both pickups with your meter before installing them?
A diagram of your wiring may help, as may some close-up photos.
I don't know why you would want to eliminate the pickup selector switch. Does this guitar have individual V and T for each pickup? If so, one could presumably wire both pickups to the output, and use the volume pots to turn the pickups on and off. But why, when the switch is already there?
Let's try to sort out your problem first.
