Hi, making a new bridge of an old Harmony 1260 Soveriegn. I am going to do a traditional pins down type as opposed to the string through from the back like these models have. I pulled the old bridge and it did do some mild damage to the the area under the bridge.
Before I mount the new bridge, what can I do to even up that area. The damage is relatively mild, but there are some pockets of torn wood fiber. I understand that I need to clean the area and level it as much as possible. What material can use to fill minor ruts.

A little déjà vu on this one... Check out More 12-string disintegrating blues... for fixing said separated bridge. A little epoxy wood filler, a lot of sandpaper and you're good to go. Happy Trails Cynical One EDIT: And it's good to see you back, ange.

The Cynical One is correct. Don't be afraid of the epoxy. Don't goop it on TOO thick, but put on enuff to allow some leeway with sanding. If you sand away 80% of what you applied, I think you'll be okay. Also, make sure of the mix of epoxy to hardener. On the 12-string, I didn't apply enuff hardener and the epoxy was a little soft, hence the extra sanding and scraping. The main thing is to fill the lost fibers. You should get really good results with this. I did.
Thanks to every one for every thing,
yug...
