ok, so I tried an experiment to wire the EMG'S from my Les Paul Into a Strat/Tele Hybrid I had laying around...i followed the following diagram to the letter: www.sonic.net/~emgman/pdf/2%20EMG%201v%20no%20tone%203wt.pdfI am now having the following problems: 1. the pickups sound thin & very noisy ( Fresh Battery installed ) 2. the pickups sound amazing...when the jack is plugged in halfway 3. when the jack is plugged in halfway, both pickups are on, the toggle does nothing & the volume does nothing 4. when switching between pickups there is a VERY audible "thump" when moving between each 5. there is a tremendous amount of "white noise" "fuzz", "wash", whatever you wish to call it, behind any signal, clean or distorted I used the old Volume pot from my Les Paul, as it was the same 25k pot that came with the emg setup. I can find no fault with my wiring, as I followed the diagram to the letter. anyone have any ideas? did I miss something? a ground, maybe? I'm confuffled, and I'd appreciate any help...

hausofmusic-
Hello and Welcome to G-Nutz2!
Is the sound "thin and very noisy" with the pickup selector switch in any of the three positions? Or only when both pickups are selected?
Based on the rest of what you have said, it sounds like the output jack is shorting out in some fashion. That's the first thing to check. Make sure that the hot wire goes to the tip, ground wire to the sleeve.
