emg active p's

The bass half of my emg active p's no longer sends a signal. The unit is sealed. Any ideas on a fix, or is replacement the only choice? Could they be replace with passives and still work on an active system?

Number one, what "bass half" are you talking about, and, number two, did you check the battery?

Just a personal opinion here.

While mixing active and passive systems is -possible,- it will cost you twice as much as just fixing the active or going all passive. It's a pain.

If they're the EMG quik-connect type, check the contacts on the plugs.

These are split pickups on a 4 string bass. It's the pickup under the E and A strings that is not working. As the other half works, and the bridge pickup works, I presume the battery is OK. I don't see any problems in the wiring, so I think the trouble must be inside the pickup itself.
Any other ideas?

Ah, got it.

Well, you should be able to get a replacement for them at no charge. EMG is really good about that. I think they guarantee their stuff for life.
