Custom Wiring Schematic

I've been searching the Internet for a schematic similar to the one described below but so far no luck. I've emailed Seymour Duncan for assistance and so far no reply. I'm beginning to think this schematic is not possible. If there are other sources for help that anyone can recommend, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Pickup Control Configuration:
1 Humbucker – Bridge (4 wire)
1 Single Coil – Middle (2 wire)
1 Humbucker – Neck (4 wire)


Note: The single coil will be placed DIRECTLY next to the bridge humbucker, resembling a “triplebucker”. I am not sure if the middle single coil would have to be RWRP in order to reduce noise.


Volume/Tone Pots:
1 Push/Pull 500k volume pot – bridge (push=series, pull=single coil)

1 Push/Pull 500k volume pot – neck (push=series, pull=single coil)

1 Master Concentric tone pot – (inner knob=neck, outer knob=bridge)



Mini toggle (on/on/on):
Position #1: Middle only
Position #2: Middle + Neck
Position #3: Neck only



Gibson 3 way toggle:
Position #1: Bridge only

Position #2: [Bridge + Middle] OR [Bridge + Middle + Neck] OR [Bridge + Neck] (depending on mini toggle setting)

Position #3: Middle only OR [Middle + Neck] OR Neck only (depending on mini toggle setting)

if you make that so-called "triplebucker", it, in contrast, WILL hum.]

and if it put directly beside the humbucker, it will alter the B HB's tone if you're using B only because its magnet will cause an alteration in the HB's magnetic field.

I think a single "neck on" switch will do you much better and IMHO, it's a lot more simple.

I see this is an old post, so I hope it's not too late to try to help, but I'll take a look at what you want and see if I can come up with anything. Yes, a triplebucker would hum, but if you look at the combinations that are asked for, they are pretty standard HSH combos, actually, an interesting switching idea. Some combos would hum, but no more than would any in a HSH guitar no matter how you wired it when you combined the bridge and middle. As for how it would affect the magnetic field, I have no idea, but you're right it probably would, I don't know if it would necessarily be a bad sound, probably just different. I'm not really sure on that.

Ok, so I think that what you want to do here is entirely possible. Here's how it would look:



All of the ground symbols connect together at a single point. The symbol going toward the bottom of the screen goes to the output jack hot side. The two boxes that aren't labelled are both SPDT on/on/on switches. The last one in the signal chain is the main selector switch, and the one before that connecting the neck and middle is the mini-toggle that you asked for. A very interesting idea for a HSH guitar.
