Someone recently posted a question about wiring a triple humbucker strat. I felt the urge to start a thread discussing this topic. So anyone got a working model or a schem in progress they'd like to share with the class? I personally would rather use 2 conductor hbs instead of 4 conductor. This keeps things from being overly complicated, and allows you to use the standard 5way without the possibility of mixing the wrong colors (I.E..... I'm colorblind. Sad but true ). AlThough and all you other nutz pretty much expect it of me by now.... i'd personally use two 6way rotary switches and use my own variant design of the double barrel strat mod switch the 5way to a mega switch, and use it as a varitone ( another expected trademark of mine...) and have a 500k master volume p/p pot set up to activate a diode driven passive overdrive. So how would you do a HHH strat??? SBG...

Its not a strat, but it is HHH and 3 RotariesIt is not the easiest to switch around in the middle of a song, but that ain't really my thing. There is one unintentional dead spot which I was unable to get around with the switches I used: when the neck pickup is on by itself and either of the interpickup s/p switches are in parallel mode it goes dead. Again, not a huge deal for what I do, but kinda against our standard Protocol.

My Rick has six rotaries, but it's SS. I'll come back with a link sometime tomorrow.

But I doubt I'd have a HHH strat. Less space between the pickups and anything past a HSH seems overkill. Well everyone has their preferances. Was that a minibucker in the middle position or an s.c. sized humbucker?

Was that a minibucker in the middle position or an s.c. sized humbucker? Although axeman referred to it as a "mini HB" in his OP, it was actually a twin blade HB in a SC form factor. DP193 Air Norton (Neck) DP187 Cruiser Bridge (Middle) DP161 Steve's Special (Bridge) I'd still do HSH rather than HHH with a SC form factor in the middle position.

I once had the idea to use three twinblades and a 3way switch, with master volume, master tone p/ps for activating the bridge and neck reguardless of the selector position and the 3rd pot replaced with a 6way varitone connected to the master tone .

What would be the best setup for an hhh guitar? Be as creative as possible.
