Yeah...welll...hmmm...
Ok, volume pot...also could be called a volume contour in itself. In fact two, one for each side of the stereo signal...and, when you get to the need, there is a spst switch to..click...turn it off.
Remember where the world was not all push button and complicated...this is what you'd need.
This is as stated, not a blend/pan pot that turns one side up while the other down.
Use in guitar, sure...I'd use one in my active guitars volume control and perhaps hide in that a power switch...maybe...a possibility (though, it could easily cause an almighty click in the signal if I used it that the audience might not appreciate, so I'd have to test that!)
People are frustrated and get cranky and the forum gets cluttered by these many threads and posts without direction and use and seemingly only for the purpose of asking things...it is in fact understandable.Now...what I would suggest would be a solution, if I may. That sbGoM perhaps start one thread, it may even turn into a monster thread and become quite popular in it's own way, that has these finds and question and maybe projects and random parts and such and post them there.
Besides the clutter, these things push other more urgent questions or more interesting than "I found a pot" questions off the top of the list!!!
By doing this, new visitors don't perhaps get to see the level of work, creativity and support the forum offers, and those that do post, won't get their posts considered.

The quality of radio shack (that went bust here...and in recent times the guys who bought it got out of electronics completely) are rarely if ever going to offer the service and quality parts that are going to be of much use...and, they are going to be fairly common devices that most will know about, so no need to bring such things to the attention of the members here I would suspect.
To learn about this, the questions are not the way. People learn not by asking and being told, but by reading and thinking about such things. A phone will not cut it for this kind of research I am afraid, regardless of the brand.
For instance, in my recent project which is a stereo guitar, there is the rare need to use a dual gang "loudness contour"
and there we went through lots of options and in the end used a 100k value. There is no need to ask, as by looking at that and reading through and considering the answers to real world questions people ask, you can learn how solutions and parts and such are explored and refined, not so practical solutions discounted and innovative solutions tried out.
Occasionally in random searching you will find something very interesting, like that
piezowire supplier, well done (though you got the completely wrong idea about how it could be used, no doubt corrupted by bad YT vids) and presented it not as this is interesting, but as if it would work as you suggested instead of asking or researching/reading the answers by reading others threads, of which there have been many in the last year concerning this tech.
But, even when you find something interesting, with all due respect, it is hidden behind threads and posts like these that are...well, not directed towards anything or project in particular and so wastes time and space...and few and far between.
People react to such things in different ways, but I think most would like to see these random posts and threads collected into one place that was not bumping down or cluttering up the front page of the wiring thread and so obscuring projects that require answers as they are in progress or more interesting and informative (instructional so people can learn as you too should read them) information.
