Hi all, Sorry for a dumb question for pros, but I am kind of confused with this wiring I am going to try. What's the purpose of cap C3? And how will it's value affect the tone? The full diagram can be found here www.geocities.jp/dgb_studio/3svari2_e.htm#160

By tracing it back, it seems to be a high pass filter when PU1 in series PU2 and PU2 in series PU3 in order to reduece highs in series mode . Am I correct?

Phil, C3 is active in SW1 positions 1 and 5, and only in SW2-"Down" position. When the tone control is at "10" in those positions, the cap shunts the highs of either PU1 or PU3 -- depending on the SW1 position -- to ground, while the selected pickup is in series with PU2. This acts as a "broadbucker" setting. Here's some more info on that pickup configuration. Hope that helps.
