What are the pros and cons (if any) of wiring the tone controller before or after the volume control?

Thanks! I have read that a long time ago, I just kinda figured it was more specifically related to guitars with two tone controls.

The same principles apply though, and the assessment that I did was just for one pickup.
Some folk like to put the tone after the volume beacuse it reduces load on the pickup at lower volume, making the sound clearer. I think there are better ways to do that with treble bleed, but each to there own.
The diagrams got unlinked when my ISP sold its retail business to another, who changed everyones web address. I've moved them to a photobucket address, so all OK now.

So here's the opportunity to add an aditional switch to your guitar.

Yes! An SPDT would do it. A center-off switch would also give you a No Load option!
