I have a 2 single coil volume/volume/tone configuration with a Gibson style 3-way switch. Is there a way I can add a switch so that both pickup can be in series?

Yes you can, it can be quite simple too. This design has more than you need: LP modular wiringIt has some variations, but module 2 will do what you describe, and cut out the two tone corcuits and replace with one. And there are a few options to consider: What sort of switch to use, toggle, slide, push/pull etc Do you want to retain the two volume controls in series mode? I recommend this because you can use them to set mixes of the two pickups, and it works very well Do you want the series switch to overide the main toggle, so that it goes to series wherever the main toggle is set, or do you want the mian toggle to still be active, to provide access to say the bridge pickup in one position, and series in another?

yes I want the front volume knob to control the volume in series mode. the diagram at that page doesn't show how everything is wired together with the pickups and pots. could you draw a diagram?

I could draw something but might take a week or so. What type of switch would you use?
Will need to work out a schematic first since all my versions have independent vol controls in series rather than a master volume J

I decided to get rid of the Gibson 3-way and just use a DPDT on/on/on. I already know how to wire that. I just need a chrome washer big enough to cover the hole. then I won't have to drill another hole or use a push/pull pot. I don't like those Gibson 3-ways anyway
